Haunting Adeline, Next read, & a newly released book added to my TBR!

Hi Friends! Week 3 of Berry’s Book Blog is here! This week I’m discussing my final thoughts of Haunting Adeline, my next read, and a newly added book to my TBR pile!

I finally finished Haunting Adeline and all I can say is WOW. This book is highly disturbing, gruesome, and vulgar. The trigger warnings were for sure warranted. Although the book left me feeling uneasy, I believe the author did a great job at adding some humor into the book by making the main character have a humorous personality. I enjoyed reading and, although I sometimes felt sick to my stomach, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a super dark read. The storyline kept me entertained and it is true that the book ends on a cliffhanger. I will eventually read the second book, but am looking forward to a break with some light-hearted reads.

The book I picked up next to read is “The Coworker” by Freida McFadden. She recently released this one and it has had mixed reviews. As you all know, I absolutely love Freida McFadden. Although there are mixed reviews, I have high expectations for this book. A “whodunnit” murder mystery a coworker tries to solve that puts herself in danger and in the spotlight of being the murderer! A more “light-hearted” thriller, if you will. Have you read The Coworker yet?

As of September 5th, 2023, Lucy Score has come out with her third and final book for the Knockemout series, “Things We Left Behind”! Not only was this book automatically added to my TBR pile, but I am planning on reading it after The Coworker! I absolutely loved the first of the series “Things We Never Got Over”. The second book, “Things We Hide From The Light”, took me a while to get through, but I still enjoyed it. I feel like I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t read the last of the series. It follows the story of Lucian and Sloane. Do you have this on your TBR pile yet? I recommend the entire series if you love small town romance, enemies to lovers, and a rom com style reading! I’d love to know your thoughts!

Have a fantastic week!

Lots of Love,

Mads :)

Hey mads!!!
I haven’t picked up a book in weeks and it makes me sad because I’ve been so busy! It’s hard for me to be stuck on a show and be able to read a book at the same time lol
I read the first 2 in the Knockemout series also! LOVED the first one but second one also took me so long to get through! I feel like I’ll have to read the new one that was just released though. I have to see things through to see how it ends!

I think my next read will be a spooky one to start of the fall season! I’m thinking The Inmate but Fredia McFadden or Local Women Missing by Mary Kubica! Or if you have any other suggestions let me know :)

Also TMINUS one week til I see you!! Have a fabulous last week of being a fiancé <3

Hi Mads!

I love murder mysteries! I haven’t read The Coworker yet though. I would recommend the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series (3 books) if you’re in a murder mystery mood later. I wasn’t a huge fan of the 1st book, BUT I persevered and the 2nd & 3rd book were a lot better and I ended up really liking the series!

I definitely want to start the Things We Left Behind series, but as you know, Libby did me dirty so I’m gonna be starting that one later than I originally wanted! Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, so I think I would like that series! I used to not want to start series because it’s a big commitment, but lately I’ve been reading more of them. I like it because I get to see more of the characters I love and their development/journey instead of just in one book. My favorite series right now is ACOTAR. What’s yours?
